However, the man said the door was locked and his girlfriend refused to allow him access to the home to get the wallet, said police, in which he forced the door open. When the door opened, he told police his girlfriend lunged at him and a brief physical fight took place.

According to the man's girlfriend, however, she threw the wallet out the window in which the man did not need to enter the home, said police. The woman showed officers a scratch on her forearm which was very minor and needed no medical attention.

Police said both wounds occurred in the fight in the living room of the home. According to police, there are two minor children that reside in the home. Both the man and woman were charged for simple assault and harassment, involving a strike, shove, kick, etc.

Two-Car Collision Off of Ellis Avenue, Minor Injuries Reported

On Feb. 4 around 4:20 p.m., police reported to the eastbound lanes of West Chester Pike and northbound lanes on Ellis Avenue for a reported two-car collision involving two and injuring both drivers.

According to police, a Mercury Montego was proceeding westbound on West Chester Pike/Route 3 when the driver stopped in the left turning lane of West Chester Pike to turn left onto southbound of Ellis Avenue.

Police said a vehicle in the eastbound lane of West Chester Pike stopped and waved the car across the intersection to Ellis Avenue. When the driver proceeded to turn left, she was struck in the right rear of her car by a vehicle behind her.

The second driver told police she was proceeding in the eastbound right lane of West Chester Pike approaching Ellis Avenue when the Montego suddenly turned left in front of her, directly in her intended path.

The driver who attempted to turn left complained of back and side pain, and was transported to Riddle Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. Second driver complained of pain in her chin and stomach and was also transported to Riddle Memorial Hospital. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and both cars were towed from the scene.

iPod Touch, Pliers and Screwdriver Taken From Home

On Feb. 4 at 6:35 p.m., police reported to First Avenue in Newtown Square for a reported theft inside a home.

The homeowner said on Jan. 12 she had a mattress delivered to her home, which she had purchased at the local mattress store in Newtown Square. While the mattress was being delivered, she told police, the delivery men asked for tools to put the bed frame together, in which the resident gave them pliers and a screw driver.

After the delivery men left, police said the resident realized the men had kept the tools she gave them to work with. According to police, the homeowner called the the delivery men in which they confirmed they still had the tools and promised to drop it off the next day but never returned them.

Police said on Jan. 14, the homeowner’s son noticed his iPod Touch was missing. It had been kept in the same bedroom where the new mattress was delivered. The son looked for several days and could not locate it anywhere, said police.

According to police, the son recently received a message from Apple that informed him that someone had attempted to change the information on his iPod Touch, which led him to believe it was stolen and not lost.

The approximate worth of the stolen items were $160 for the iPod Touch and $7 for the tools.

PennDOT Truck Slides Into Car, Pins Car Against Guard Rail

On Feb. 5 at approximately 6:50 a.m., police responded to the northbound lane of Darby-Paoli Road between North Newtown Street Road and Waynesfield Drive for a reported car crash.

According to police, a Toyota Corrolla was traveling north on Darby-Paoli Road traversing an overpass where the roads were reported to be icy and slippery.

Police said at the time, there were numerous accidents and a disabled vehicle ahead of the Corolla. The driver then stopped the car due to the situation ahead as it was also experiencing some sliding from icy road.

At the time, police said a PennDOT salt truck equipped with a salt spreader was called to the scene to spread salt on the slick roadway.

According to police, the PennDOT truck made a pass on the southbound lanes and then turned around to salt the northbound lanes, but the path was blocked on the northbound lanes due to stopped traffic.

When the truck stopped, it stopped directly next to the Corrolla, said police. Darby-Paoli Road is banked from the right lanes down into the median guard rail in the center, according to police.

While stationary, the PennDOT truck began to slide side-way downhill, said police. The truck then slid into the Corrolla while both were at a complete stop. The truck’s driver’s side struck the passenger side of the Corrolla, in which the compact car was pushed into the guard rail by the truck and striking its driver’s side into the guard rail, said police.

Three out of the four passengers in the Corrolla suffered minor injuries from the accident. The northbound lane of Darby-Paoli Road was fully closed for approximately 30-60 minutes.
