Police Blotter: DUI Arrest, Telephone Pole Wire Fire, Soda Machine Thief and More

Burnt Sausage On Stove Alarms First Responders

On Sept. 1 at 12:54 p.m., responded to a fire call at a unit in the Woodbrook House Apartments on 3405 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square. Police confirmed there was no fire but a lot of  heavy smoke. According to police, a burnt sausage was cooking on the stove that caused the heavy smoke. The responded to the scene and cleared the smoke.

Thief Takes Money From Soda Machine

On Sept. 1. at 6:27 p.m., police responded to gas station for a reported theft. The gas station, located on 99 South Newtown Street Road, reported that someone had broken into their Coca-Cola machine sometime. Police said an undetermined amount of money was stolen.

Telephone Pole Wire Fire on Route 3

On Sept. 2 at 3:43 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Rt. 3/West Chester Pike and Bryn Mawr Avenue for a reported wire fire. According to police, a telephone pole's wire had caught on fire. Police said PECO was notified, who repaired the wire.

DUI Arrest On West Chester Pike

On Sept. 3 at 11:25 p.m., police responded to the 3500 block of West Chester Pike/Rt. 3 for a DUI. According to police, a 45-year-old driver from Drexel Hill was driving a gold-colored Honda was arrested for driving under the influence. The man failed a preliminary breathalyzer test which indicated that he was over twice the alcohol limit. The man had a recorded 0.15 blood alcohol content.
