Thief Steals $50 From Soda Vending Machine

On May 18 at 9:26 a.m., Newtown police responded to a reported theft at the on West Chester Pike. According to the incident report, an unknown actor had stolen approximately $50 from the Coca-Cola vending machine located at the front of the service station between the entrance door and the vehicle bay door.

Police Find Solicitor on Georgia Warrant at Springton Pointe Woods

On May 17 at approximately 4 p.m., police responded to Rose Glen Court in the Springton Pointe Woods development for a solicitors ordinance violation. Two solicitors were seen going door-to-door around the development.

Police located a man and a woman who fit the description from the caller on Stoneybrook Boulevard at Rose Glen Court. The couple told police that they were soliciting magazine subscriptions and donations, according to the incident report.

According to police, Brian Kurn Daneill Mason-Webber was found to have an out-of-state warrant from Georgia for soliciting. Police told both solicitors that any further soliciting would result in an arrest.

The couple were transported back to the Newtown Square Shopping Center to wait for their ride. According to police, Marple police issued out several arrest of the solicitors' coworkers.

Philadelphia Man Busted With Marijuana

On May 16 at approximately 4 p.m., Drew Aurelio Williams II, 21, of Philadelphia, was charged with two offenses for prohibited acts/penalties for the possession and/or consumption of a small amount of marijuana.

According to the incident report, Newtown police received a 911 call for a suspected illegal drug sale on Hilltop Road. Police observed a man fitting the caller's description walking from Hilltop Road to Barren Road.

The police stopped Williams in the area of Fawn Lane and Brookhill Road. According to the report, the police knew Williams from a previous arrest involving drug violations in the same area.

During a search of Williams, police located four small, clear bags from Williams’ right pocket which contained marijuana residue. Williams was arrested in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Leaf Blowers, Bicycle Stolen From Sheds

On May 13 at approximately 11:05 a.m., police responded to a call on Wisteria Drive for a discovered theft. Upon arriving, police met a man, who was the homeowner’s father and was house-sitting and dog-sitting for the family while the owners were on vacation. According to the incident report, the man told police that on May 12  around 1 p.m., he had gone to the home to mow the lawn. After finishing up, he put the mower into the shed in the rear yard. The man went back on May 13 to check up on the dog and observed the door to the rear shed ajar, he told police. The man discovered a TREX bicycle missing as well as a backpack-style leaf blower. The estimated value of the bike is approximately $1,000. Other items in the shed such as a lawnmower, gasoline weed whackers and other bikes were all left behind, according to police.

On May 17 at 2:15 p.m., a resident came into the Newtown Police Station to report two pieces of landscaping equipment stolen from his home on Elgin Circle. According to the report, the man told police a straight-arm, 6-year-old weed whacker and a backpack-style leaf blower were missing from his detached shed. The estimated value of the backpack-style leaf blower to be around $600 and the weed whacker to be around $100.
