The video assisted authorities in eventually leading to the arrest of the thief involved in both the Newtown Square Pizza burglary and a 2008 buglary of Fresco Pizza & Grill in Newtown Square.

"The surveillance video from the store enabled detectives to come up with a suspect," said Anderson. "During the prevailing months, detectives from multiple jurisdictions began a task force to track and capture the suspect while doing the actual burglaries."

According to Anderson, on sometime during the night of Sept. 22, authorities were able to catch the suspect while committing a burglary in the state of Delaware. Police were able to stop his vehicle and place the man under arrest as he was leaving the crime scene, said Anderson.

The man faces numerous pending charges in connection with approximately 30 area burglaries since May of this year. He is currently in custody.

"This is not the first time this same suspect has burglarized businesses in Newtown Township," said Anderson, referring to the 2008 burglary at Fresco Pizza & Grill. "He was recently released from jail for those crimes prior to the new burglaries."

Anderson said the suspect's name will not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. Police are still searching for the other suspect in connection to these burglaries.

Det. John Newell of Newtown Township police helped in this investigation and arrest, along with several other law enforcement agencies from Montgomery and Chester counties, of small business burglaries occuring in the area.
