Police Investigate Home Burglary on Crum Creek Lane

The following information was provided by the Newtown Township Police Department.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 4:30 p.m., the Newtown Township police were called to investigate a home burglary on the 300 block of Crum Creek Lane.

According to Lt. Chris Lunn, the homeowners reported that they went out for the afternoon and locked the house but did not activate the alarm system.

While the homeowners were out, according to Lunn, some unknown actor(s) forced their way in to the rear door of the home. Once inside the home, the subject(s) ransacked the master bedroom looking for jewelry and other valuables, states Lunn in an email.

Police remind residents "If you have an alarm system, use it when you are away from home. Keep an eye on your neighborhood during the day; this is when the majority of residential burglaries occur. Report any suspicious people in your neighborhood to 911 immediately."

Just curious if anyone else in the neighborhood gets alot of knocks on the front door during the day, i seem to I'm over on Brookside, yesterday a man with a clipboard knocked i just got home from work early afternoon, i was just to tired, nothing unusual about except that before he left the unanswered door, he circled around my entire house and then got into the car and left ... i went to the window to try and get the plates number but couldn't see it, is that just to unnecessary to let the police know? any advice will help Thanks

You can never be too safe. Offering your report on what you experienced could help police officers out in the long run.

Red Flag! I think these days and with what has been going on in Netown Square with their robberies that ANYTHING unusual happening in your neighborhood should be reported no matter how insignificant you think it is. You probably should call the police today and report it. It just could be the "missing" clue they are looking for. Do yourself and your neighborhood a favor today and make that call!

I signed up for the "No Solicitor" list with Marple Police. It's a joke. I have people knocking on my door all the time. Call 911 as requested and nothing is done. Anyone that is unknown to me, suspicious and entering my property will be considered a possible threat until proven otherwise.
