Police: Landscaper Hit By Car, Thrown From Lawn Mower

The landscaper was taken to University of Pennsylvania Hospital but no charges have been filed.

SPRINGFIELD–On June 4 at approximately 11:50 a.m., responded to the 1800 block of Spring Valley Rd. in Marple Township for an emergency call.

According to the incident report, police received an emergency call regarding a landscaper who had been struck by a vehicle and "thrown" from his lawn mower.

Upon arrival, police located the man down in the driveway of the residence. The man was conscious and alert but complained of pain throughout his body, according to the report.

arrived on scene and transported the man to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital to be evaluated for injuries.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that the homeowner was backing her Range Rover SUV out of the driveway when she struck the landscaper who was in the process of cutting her lawn, according to the report.

The homeowner told police, according to the report, that she never saw the man while she was backing up. The landscaper’s lawn mower was damaged during the incident and the also responded to control the gas leaking from the lawn mower.

No further action or charges were taken at the time of the incident.
