Police Looking For Man Involved In Newtown Square Home Burglary

The Newtown Township Police Department is asking the community's help in search of a man involved in a daytime home burglary on St. David's Road in Newtown Square that occurred on May 11.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The released a statement on Monday asking the public's help in identifying a man who may have been connected to a daytime home burglary on May 11.

On Friday, Newtown police investigated a home burglary on St. Davids Road in Netown Square. According to police, the homeowner reported that sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., someone had entered their home through an unlocked rear door of the home and removed a large amount of jewelry from the master bedroom. 

Police are searching for a white male, 5’8”, approximately 18-22 years old with dark hair, carrying a back pack, who was seen walking on St. Davids Road around the time of the burglary.

If anyone was in the area and saw this person, please contact the Newtown Police Department at 610-356-0602. According to police, no other burglaries were reported in the area.

Police are reminding residents to lock all doors and windows when leaving the house.

"If your house is equipped with an alarm system, use it. Don’t leave jewelry or other small valuables in the master bedroom. It’s the first place thieves look," said Lt. Chris Lunn in the statement.

If anyone sees a suspicious person in your neighborhood or someone who seems to be out of place, call 911 right away.
