Police Make Drug Arrest on West Chester Pike in Marple

A Philadelphia man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

BROOMALL–Haverford Township Police made a drug arrest of a Philadelphia man on West Chester Pike by the Blue Route entrance in Marple Township last Wednesday morning, the department confirmed.

According to Haverford Police Sgt. Shant Bedrosian, at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, a township officer on patrol observed a vehicle displaying expired registration. The car was pulled over near the intersection of West Chester Pike and Lawrence Road.

While in conversation with the driver, a 22-year-old man from Philadelphia, the officer noted a smell of marijuana and learned that, in addition to the suspended registration, the driver's license was suspended as well.

Police towed the vehicle and, during a subsequent search, discovered drug paraphernalia in it.

The man was arrested and charged with, in addition to his driving offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia.
