Stroller, Diaper Bag Used in Retail Theft, Police Say

More than $300 in clothing was stolen from Old Navy, police say.

Retail Theft—Old Navy at the 200 block of S. State Road at about 5:36 p.m. on March 11. Three women and two children, one of whom was an infant, were transported to the police station for alleged involvement in a retail theft, according to the report.

An investigation showed the three women were together but entered the store at different times, according to the report. One of the women, a 17-year-old, used a baby stroller and was observed removing and placing clothing upon the stroller, according to the report. The other two women were seen speaking with store employees as a distraction, according to the report, while the 17-year-old allegedly placed the clothing from the stroller into a large bag. The other two women left the store and the 17-year-old left the store allegedly carrying out the concealed items at which time she was stopped, according to the report.

The items were valued at $313.73 and were all recovered, according to the report.

A diaper bag, also with the three women, was lined with duct tape and foil allegedly to be used to conceal items rather than carry diapers for the 2-year-old and 5-month-old children with the women, according to the report.

The 17-year-old was processed and released in connection with retail theft, according to the report.
