Three Charged for Abusing 78-Year-Old Dementia Patient

Three women were charged in connection with a nursing home assault in Haverford.

HAVERFORD–This past week, three women were charged in connection with an assault at a nursing home in which a dementia patient reportedly was forced to stand topless, Haverford Police said.

The alleged abuse happened at Quadrangle Retirement/Nursing Home Facility in Haverford.

The victim's son-in-law secretly installed a nanny cam inside a clock in her room after she complained to him and her daughter of alleged abuse from the staff at Quadrangle and after the facility’s administration stated that allegations of abuse were "unfounded," citing the woman’s dementia as their reason.

One of the recordings from March 31 allegedly shows the three women enter the victim's room and harass her, including making her stand topless and mock her, according to the affidavit. One of the videos of the alleged abuse can be .

Officials confirm that a third woman is now facing charges after a case of abuse against a nursing home resident they say was caught on video.

Tyrina Griffin is the second person charged in the alleged abuse case of a woman under her care.
