Two More Home Burglaries Reported in Marple

BROOMALL–On June 11 at approximately 7:24 a.m., responded to the 400 block of Redhill Rd. for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who stated that sometime between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. the night before, someone had entered the home and removed multiple items from the home.

According to the report, the homeowner stated that he had left the home around 5 p.m. and upon returning home around 9 p.m., he noticed a handful of items that were obviously missing including: 2 Macbook laptops, another unknown laptop, a 55-inch Panasonic TV, a 42-inch High Sense TV, two Xbox 360 game consoles, one PS3 gaming system, over 50 Xbox 360 games, over 50 DVD movies, a Honda Cr-80 dirt bike, a KDX 80 dirt bike, and $2,200.

The homeowner told police he believed the burglar had entered the home through the garage and laundry room of the home.

According to the report, it is thought to believe that one of the homeowner's son’s friends may have played a part in the burglary by removing the items through the woods in the back of the home to an awaiting vehicle parked in one of the business lots on South Parkway Blvd.

Police are further investigating this incident.

Silver Car With Possible New York License Plate Observed at Time of Burglary

On June 1 at approximately 11:44 a.m., Marple police responded to the unit block of Cornell Circle for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who informed police that he had just gotten home and noticed the home had been ransacked.

According to the report, the homeowner left at 9 a.m. that morning and had returned at approximately 11:30 a.m. When he returned home, the homeowner observed the side porch storm door open.

The man entered the home through the front door and found a side bedroom immediately on the right ransacked and clothes dumped everywhere with dresser drawers open.

According to the report, police found nearly every room had been ransacked with belongings thrown all over and drawers left open. Police stated in the report that there was loose money on the upstairs hallway floor and some bills inside a sandwich bag in plain view on a bedroom floor that were not taken.

All TVs, play stations and computers were also not taken. According to the report, police observed the side porch storm door had tool pry marks on the outside.

In addition, the homeowner told police that he observed a silver car with a yellow license plate, possibly a New York license plate, sitting across the street near the home and then fled when it saw the homeowner come home.

Police are further investigating this incident.
