Walmart Employee Steals $650 from Register, Police Say

The Drexel Hill woman stole from the register throughout November, police say.

A Walmart employee was arrested and charged in connection with taking money from the register, according to Marple Township Police.

Police responded to Walmart at 400 S. State Rd in Springfield on Nov. 18 and spoke with the manager who said an employee had stolen $650 from the cash register throughout November, according to police.

The manager provided police with still photos and video from the thefts and said the total amount stolen may be more but at the time they could prove the $650, according to police.

The employee, a 43-year-old Drexel Hill woman, allegedly admitted to the theft and filled out a statement by store security, according to police.

She was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both misdemeanors, according to police.

She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a summons being issued.
