$30K Donated to Delco Hero Scholarship Fund

Run For Heroes, Inc., presented a $30,000 check to the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund.

MEDIA–Representatives of Run For Heroes, Inc., delivered a contribution of $30,000 to the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund which was accepted at the March 28 County Council meeting by Council Chairman Thomas J. McGarrigle on behalf of the Hero Fund.

The presentation was made by Jeff Rudolph, President of the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners, Dave Gallo, Springfield Manager Lee Fulton, McGarrigle, Bob Simpson, former County Councilman John J. McFadden and Springfield Police Chief Joseph Daly.

The donation brought the grand total to $294,000 raised through the Run for Heroes which was held last Oct. 9 for the 11th consecutive year in Springfield to benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund, making the event the largest single donor to the Hero Fund. The 12th annual run will be held on Oct. 7, 2012, in Springfield.

Joining to accept the donation were Councilmembers John P. McBlain, Colleen P. Morrone and David J. White and Vice Chairman Mario J. Civera Jr.
