A List of Candidates Who Have Filed Petitions to Run in Marple and Newtown

Municipal races in May primaries and school board elections are contested.

Delaware County released its unofficial list of candidates who have filed petitions to run for commissioner, supervisor and seats on March 9.

One seat is up for grabs on Newtown's Board of Supervisors. Edward Partridge has challenged veteran Supervisor and Vice Chairwoman Linda Houldin in the primaries for the six-year term position.

In Marple, the odd numbered district seats are up in this year's election. The republicans throw four hats into the commissioner ring for the four, four-year term district seats of districts 1, 3, 5 and 7.

Joseph Rufo is looking at Commissioner Trudy Riddell's (D-1st District) seat on the board while Robert Fortebuono has his eyes on Commissioner Jim Balk's (D-3rd District) seat. Commissioners John Longacre II (R-5th District) and Dan Leefson (R-7th District) have filed to run another term in their district seats for this year's election.

There are eight candidates who have put their names forward for the school district director seats in Marple Newtown. This year, there are five, four-year term seats up for grabs. Some of the names put forward are familiar to the school seats, while several new names have popped up into the school board election ring. The candidates are as follows:
