BIG's Alternate Billboard Proposal in Newtown 'Off The Table'

Newtown Township Manager Mike Trio confirmed that Bartkowski Investment Group's alternate digital billboard proposal to the township is now off the table.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The deal is off the table, confirmed Manager Mike Trio over the phone last week.

The deal Trio is referring to is the latest proposal made by Bartkowski Investment Group (BIG) about on West Chester Pike, instead of the original three aerial billboards proposed at , and .

"The latest proposal doesn't seem like it's happening," said Trio about BIG's digital billboard proposal. "It's a dead deal."

Since their special presentation last month at the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting, BIG's alternate proposal has not moved forward.

"We haven't heard anything else or gotten any feedback from them," said Trio referring to BIG. "They took the risk or initiative to come up with this alternative proposal and it just didn't move forward."

In addition, Trio said BIG has not requested a follow-up meeting since their presentation last month.

"I don't know what their next steps will be or have any idea what it is," said Trio.

According to Trio, the original application for the three aerial billboards along West Chester Pike is still before the township's Zoning Hearing Board.

"They'll continue forward in defending the appeal before the Zoning Hearing Board," said Trio.

So, it's decreed dead because there was no additional movement? I don't know about that. In my opinion it is dead when the board lets Bartkowski know that the deal is off the table. That decrees that it is dead. Anything otherwise seems like they just aren't CURRENTLY interested in pursuing it, but that he can come back at any time and try to push the agenda. Well, at least I have a question for their legal team at the next zoning board hearing. This is the same organization that constantly asks for a continuance and didn't talk to Newtown for a long time while it focused its resources on Springfield and Haverford. I am a skeptic on this one.
