BIG to Propose Alternate Plan For Newtown Billboards at Monday Night's Supervisors Meeting

Thaddeus Bartkowski III, owner of Bartkowski Investment Group and Cataylst Outdoor Advertising, has requested to make a settlement proposal on Monday, March 12, at the Board of Supervisors meeting.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–A letter dated on March 7 was sent out to all parties formally protesting Bartkowski Investment Group's (BIG) proposal of the three billboards to be erected along West Chester Pike/Rt. 3 in Newtown Square.

The letter states that a representative from BIG will make a settlement proposal presentation to the validity challenge on the three billboards in Newtown on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the .

According to Preserve Our Pennsylvania Towns–a coalition comprised of Haverford, , Newtown, and Springfield township residents with the purpose of preserving the aesthetic beauty of public spaces within the suburban communities particularly focusing on the billboards issue in each township–Thaddeus Bartkowski III, owner of BIG and Catalyst Outdoor Advertising, will propose an alternative plan during Monday night's Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting.

"He wants to drop the three signage locations currently before the Zoning Board in lieu of something 'new, dynamic and exciting that we'll all enjoy,'" states the coalition in a newsletter they sent out on Sunday.

On the township website, under additional business on the supervisors' agenda for Monday night, it states an informational presentation will be made by Bartkowski.

"A presentation of proposal/alternative for ground mounted display system versus aerial billboard installations" is stated on the agenda. To note, the billboard appeal is currently before the township Zoning Hearing Board.

Residents have previously voiced their concerns and issues over the billboard proposal during prior hearings and have also . Some on the issue, including –one of the proposed billboard locations in Newtown.

In addition to Meineke, the other two proposed billboard locations include Newtown Beer & Soda at 3517 West Chester Pike and at 3545 West Chester Pike.

A scheduled hearing on the billboards in February has been pushed back to March 15 before the Newtown Zoning Hearing Board.
