Congress Votes: Cement Industry To Receive Extensions on EPA Compliance

Though, Congress was busy over the past few weeks, many measures failed to reach either chamber for final passage. The Senate did confirm a federal judge nominee in the South, while the House extended a regulatory deadline from the Environmental Protection Agency.

HR2681: Approved Oct. 6 by a 262-161 vote, this measure extends deadlines for cement manufacturing facilities to comply with EPA standards. This generally gives these companies about five years to bring their enterprises up to code.
