Construction Process of Gradyville Rd. Bridge Moving Along

A temporary construction easement was approved by the Board of Supervisors for the construction of the Gradyville Road bridge in Newtown Square.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–One of the two properties that would need construction easements during the construction of the Gradyville Road bridge project have signed their agreement for execution, announced  Engineer Eileen Nelson at a supervisors meeting on Aug. 13.

"It's my understanding the other property owner's attorney is reviewing requests made to some revisions of the agreement prior to signing. We expect to have the signed agreement before the next supervisors meeting," said Nelson.

According to Supervisors Chairman Joe Catania, the easements will be for the duration of the project only.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the acceptance of the temporary construction easement at last Monday's supervisors meeting. 

According Nelson, the Plans, Specifications and Estimates package was sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) on June 22. The package will then yield to the contractor by October 1st and .

Previously, township officials had stated an anticipation date of approximately one year from the .

Inspection costs are expected to total $759,861. Of the $760,000, the township will be responsible to pay 20 percent of the total cost, or $159,972.
