County Council Honors American Education Week

The Delaware County Council passed a resolution to mark Nov. 13-19 as American Education Week.

MEDIA–The Delaware County Council has recognized the week of Nov. 13 through 19 to be American Education Week.

The council passed a resolution during its Tuesday, Nov. 1, meeting to commemorate the week, according to a press release.

“American Education Week is sponsored by a coalition of education leaders from Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties who have joined with members of the Pennsylvania State Education Association to promote awareness and appreciation of the quality of public schools,” the press release states.

  • Councilman Thomas J. McGarrigle
  • Nancy Galbraith, Vice President of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit board of directors in and school board member of Marple Newtown School District
  • Superintendent and and Chairwoman of the Chief School Administrators Council Dr. Merle Horowitz
  • Dr. Lawrence O’Shea, Executive Director of the Intermediate Unit
  • Adriene M. Irving, the Intermediate Unit’s Director of Legislative and Community Services
