Health Info Abounds at County Women’s Wellness Fair

MEDIA–Attendees perused tables of information provided by numerous county health agencies participating in a Women’s Wellness Fair Tuesday at the Government Center.

The fair was held to encourage woman to make healthy lifestyle choices, provide nutrition and fitness tips and supply information about available health and wellness programs in the county.

Pamphlets, freebies and no cost blood pressure screenings were there for the taking.

Professionals and advocates were available to answer questions, explain health risks and talk about wellness best practices.

Delaware County Council presented a resolution declaring Woman’s Wellness Day to Director of the Department of Intercommunity Affairs Maureen Hennessey Herman, and representatives of Delaware County Women’s Commission and Friends of the Delaware County Women’s Commission during the regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Along with the county Department of Intercommunity Health Coordination, participants included , Crozer Keystone Health Systems, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Riddle Memorial Hospital, Delaware County Tobacco Free Coalition, New Jersey Blood Centers, ChesPenn Health Center, Woman Against Rape, the Domestic Abuse Project, the Community Action Agency Weatherization Program, the Center Foundation, Delco Family Engagement Workgroup, Family Support Line, the Women’s Resource Center, and .
