Marple Approves 2014 Budget with Small Increase

Residents will pay nearly $17 more annually in property taxes.

Marple Township residents will see a slight property tax increase in 2014.

The $14.9 million budget was approved my Marple Township Commissioners on Dec. 23 with a real estate tax increase of 2.5 percent, according to Marple Township Finance Director Ed O’Lone.

An average residential home assessed at $161,000 will pay $690.53 in annual property taxes, according to O’Lone. That's nearly a $17 increase compared to 2013 when Marple Township saw a zero increase in 2013 and paid $673.62.
