Marple Bans Overnight Parking of Commercial Vehicles in Parks

Marple Township Board of Commissioners unanimously approved ordinances that will prohibit overnight parking of oversized vehicles at any parks.

BROOMALL–The Marple Township Board of Commissioners on Monday night unanimously passed two ordinances which will prohibit the parking of oversized vehicles, commercial vehicles, or business vehicles in any park or recreation area
owned by the township.

Township Manager Anthony Hamaday said the ordinances will address the issue of “overnight parking of tractor trailers, commercial vehicles, in any of our parks."

The reason for two ordinances rather than one is so that both the Code Enforcement officer and Marple Police Department can enforce the new no parking
rule, Hamaday told the Marple Newtown Patch.
