Marple Discusses Partnership With Neighboring Towns In Global Connect and Brining System

Marple Commissioners recognized the township's partnership with neighboring communities during its Aug. 8 meeting.

BROOMALL– will be partnering with  for its Global Connect system, which is an emergency contact tool to notify residents of important events and emergencies. 

At a Marple Board of Commissioners meeting on Aug. 8, the Department of Public Works update also revealed that a new brining system is ready for winter use.

The salt-water spreading system is to be used in the hours preceding a winter storm. The township expects the brine to save about two thirds of its salt for the year.

Other townships, the commissioners said, are interested in partnering with Marple to gain access to the brining system.

According to the commissioners, the township has undertaken an LED street light test program. The LED lights are "extremely efficient and bright," and the township would receive a rebate from PECO for using the street lights.
