Marple Legion Post 805 Present Distinguished Medals to 16 Local Students
Two students from each of the Marple Newtown School District as well as two local parochial schools were awarded with the American Legion School Award.
BROOMALL–On Friday, June 17, officers of the Marple Memorial Post 805 in Broomall presented their annual awards ceremony awarding 16 local students with their prestigious "Certificate of Distinguised Achievement" American Legion School Award.
According to the American Legion, the award is the highest honor given to graduating youth in the communit–from elementary to high school levels–who have exemplified the Legion's beliefs of: honor, courage, scholarship, leadership and service.
The award, which is actually a medallion, was given to the following students:

Marple Memorial Post 805 Commander Jerry Sweeley said, "We as Legionnaires were honored to present the students with this highest of honors on behalf of the American Legion."
