Marple Newtown Christmas Tree Disposal Info

Still haven't gotten rid of your Christmas tree? Find out what to do about it here.

For those who still have their Christmas tree lingering in their living room, fear not – there are easy ways to get rid of it.

Both Marple and Newtown townships have already made rounds picking up trees on the curb – since they're not to be collected with regular trash. If you missed those pickups, don't worry. There's more to come.

Marple Township Manager Anthony Hamaday said last year trees will be recycled at the county composting facility.

According to the township, trees will be collected starting this week. Collection will end in a week or two.

Meanwhile, Newtown Township will be collecting curbside trees daily -- sans tinsel and ornaments – from Jan. 11-23.

If you miss curbside pickup, you can always drop your tree off at the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority on 2300 Concord Road & Incinerator Rd., in Chester. On the third Wednesdays of each month from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., there'll be drop-off locations. Branches must be no more than four inches in diameter and no larger than four feet.
