Marple Seeks Design Proposals for Emergency Services Building

Architects and engineers have 30 days to respond to the township.

BROOMALL– Manager Anthony Hamaday told the Marple Board of Commissioners on Monday night that he has sent out requests for proposals for the township’s proposed Emergency Services Facilities building.

A total of 30 requests for proposals were sent out to architects and engineering firms, Hamaday told Marple Newtown Patch in an interview after the meeting.

The architects and engineers have until Sept. 16 to return the requests, Hamaday said.

The request for proposal has two pieces, Hamaday said: 1. to create a combined conceptual design plan for the  and district courts office; and 2. take that conceptual design for the police and courts offices and the plan for the  and , which is already complete, to come up with an overall design plan for the entire project.

Hamaday’s report on the proposed Emergency Services Facilities building came toward the end of the meeting without much discussion from the commissioners.

At the last commissioners meeting, the board let a tabled vote on the planning process of the  due to down economy and real estate market.
