Newtown Makes Board, Commission Appointments

Local residents will serve as representatives on various township committees and departments starting in 2013.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors appointed several people to township committees and departments at a reorganization meeting held on Monday, Jan. 7.

The following appointments were approved by supervisors:

Planning Commission (two, 4-year terms)

Leonard Altieri III (replacing John Cellucci)

Clare Frissora (replacing James M. Stefanidis)

Zoning Hearing Board (one, 5-year term)

Matthew Denucci, Esq. 

Municipal Authority (one, 5-year term)

George Chittenden (replacing Larry Fischer)

Environmental Advisory Council (two, 3-year terms)

Sonia Di Varerio, Esq.

One seat open

Bartram Bridge Joint Commission (one, 2-year term and township manager/delgate)

George Sharretts (township delegate)

One seat open

In addition, board liaisons were approved with the following appointments made:

Police Department: Joe Catania and Ross Lambert

Non-Uniformed Personnel: Ed Partridge

Police Pension Board/Non-Uniformed Pension Board: George Wood

Planning Commission: John Nawn

Municipal Authority: John Nawn

Leisure Services: Joe Catania

Library: Ed Partridge

Environmental Advisory Council: George Wood

Parks & Recreation Board: Ed Partridge

Fire Department: Ross Lambert

Emergency Medical Services: Ross Lambert

CDCA Liaison: John Nawn
