Legionnaires Teach Russell Students the Importance of Veterans Day

Legionnaires of American Legion Marple Memorial Post 805 teach students at Russell Elementary School the significance of Veterans Day.

BROOMALL–Legionnaires of joined students for a Veterans Day presentation on Nov. 4. A flag presentation kicked off the day filled with learning.

For several hours throughout the day, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps veterans were able to speak with each grade level about their experiences serving on the forefront for the United States.

Marple Memorial Post 805 Commander Jerry Sweeley of US Army and Legionnaires Larry Snyder of US Army, Sam Malandra of US Army, Dick Phillips of US Air Force, Bob Spano of US Marine Corps, Dave Garvey of US Marine Corps, Al O'Rangers of US Navy, Dominic DiMento of US Navy, Henry Ryder of US Navy, and Guy Orlando of US Navy were in attendance for the special presentation. Grandparents of Russell students were also invited for the presentation.
