What’s Closed and Open this Christmas Holiday

Here's a rundown of the closings around town.

This year Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fall on a weekend, which affects the regular hours of government offices, as well as local businesses. Government buildings are normally closed on the weekends anyway, however, the county will observe the holiday on Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, and will be closed then as well.

In the meantime, while most businesses are closed on Christmas Day, some have limited hours on Christmas Eve. There are several stores open for your last-minute gift shopping, or meal-preparation needs. If you are looking for a quick getaway from the holiday chaos, the movie theatres are open, and are rolling out several new releases the last week of the year.

The following is a list of what is closed and what is open during the Christmas holiday.
