Local Business Leaders Hope To Make July 4th BOOM for Kids and Adults

The Broomall Rotary and the Marple Business and Professional Association are hoping to make this another great July 4th.

So much going on this July 4th I hardly know where to start!

Of course, everyone knows about the annual parade down West Chester Pike on July 4th. It's always a blast and lots of fun stuff to watch. Make sure you keep an eye out for Broomall Rotary's Float. Jim Kenny, float director, and the rest of the Broomall rotarians are sure to catch your eye. The parade starts at 10 a.m. so be there early for a good seat.

Once again, the race will happen just before the parade begins. Be sure to cheer for your favorite runner, or if you are feeling chipper, why not sign up and do the run yourself. You can find more information and sign up at www.Firecracker5KRun.com.

This is a chance for you to have a great time and support the dozens of fantastic projects that Broomall Rotary sponsors for our community and the world every year. Last year we donated nearly $20,000 to local Broomall projects. The link has details including the map of the race so you can enjoy watching.

And, of course, our Marple Business and Professional Association will again sponsor the annual Bicycle Brigade. Decorate your kid's bikes and line up early to ride with the rest of the parade. We meet at St. Anastasia’s parking lot around 8:45 a.m.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. and we will march from St. Annie’s to the Broomall Fire Co. on Malin Road. So get out those red, white, and blue streamers and don't forget your bike helmet! Information available from Bill McIntyre at 610-356-1010.

So you don't need to go to the shore or the mountains to have a great July 4th. Just stay at home, bring a lawn chair, and be part of the party to celebrate our freedom and the sacrifice our ancestors have made to make it all possible for us.
