As I mentioned previously, speaking with the residents has given me an opportunity to dispel some misconceptions.
One misconception is that you have to stay within your party registration for this upcoming General Election. In this General Election you can vote for any candidate regardless of party. You can split your vote, vote for only the candidates whom you prefer, or vote party lines. This election is an off-year election with mostly County and Local candidates on the ballot, so it has not brought out the attention usually associated with a concurrent National or State General Election.
I am reaching out to all Newtown Township Independents, Republicans and Democrats for support in this election. I personally have always voted for the person rather than the party. I listen to the candidate’s message and then make an informed choice. We are a relatively small community and we should be able to communicate with each other, to guide our government on a course that we want. Special interests should not be at the helm of this ship.

I have previously mentioned that I am stating my position on various issues for your consideration. I have tried to reach out through many mediums: electronic news, e-mails, direct mailing and through face-to-face conversations. You should be able to hold me accountable if elected, because I put my position in writing not just verbally with residents. I cannot write about what may come up in the next six years, but you should by now have an idea of how I think about local issues and the effects on our community.
If you have heard from all of the candidates for Newtown Supervisor, then you should be able to make an educated choice based on their position on local issues.
