Community College To Be 100% Tobacco-Free

Delaware County Community College will implement a new tobacco-free policy starting July 1, 2013.

Students and staff at Delaware County Community College will be able to breathe easy starting this summer. The college will implement a new tobacco-free policy starting July 1. 

The policy will help "create a healthy and sustainable environment for the entire College community by becoming 100 percent tobacco free," according to the school's policy.

According to the school, the use of tobacco products (including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco, e-cigarettes and any other tobacco products) will be prohibited from the following locations:

  • In all interior spaces on the College’s campuses.
  • On all outside property of the College’s campuses or spaces being used by or on behalf of the College, including partially enclosed areas such as walkways and bus shelters.
  • In all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities being used by or on behalf of the College.
