The Knights have changed quite a bit since that game, added one very vital area, a passing game led by senior and sophomore receiver Ron Burrell.
The Knights, in only their second year as a varsity program, will be playing Calvary Christian again for the District 1 Class A title this weekend.
“I think we’re a team with a lot more confidence, and experience-wise, we have a couple of seniors and juniors, and a few sophomore starters that are all better,” said Hirshman, who threw just four times against Calvary Christian.
Burrell, a big potential for the Knights, may make a huge breakthrough on Nov. 11th's game. Hirshman believes with the help of Burrell, the Knights will be facing Calvary Christian with more confidence.
“We’re all better; we’re confident. We’re going into the game business as usual. There will be a lot more focus. We’re throwing the ball more, and Ron is a big part of that," said Hirshman. "Everyone can see he’s an unbelievable athlete. You can see on the field that he’s an unbelievable player.”
