EA Cellists To Perform in Prestigious Orchestra Festival

Episcopal Academy students Jameso Achuff, Jake Aronchick, and Eunice Ju were selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region IV Orchestra Festival in February.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Episcopal Academy Cellists Jameson Achuff '13, Jake Aronchick '13, and Eunice Ju '15 were selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Region VI Orchestra Festival that will take place on February 21-23, 2013.

Achuff, Aronchick and Ju each successfully completed a rigorous re-audition process on January 10 at the District Festival. Region VI is comprised of high-caliber student musicians from Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks, Berks, and Montgomery counties.

“This is an unprecedented showing for EA, as our students will make up a quarter of the entire cello section at the Regional Festival,” says Katie Bechtold, Director of Orchestras at The Episcopal Academy.

Based on re-auditions that will be held at next month’s Regional Festival, the three EA cellists each have an opportunity to advance to the State, Eastern and National Festivals. For more information about the festivals and performances, please visit the PMEA District 12 website: www.pmea12.org.
