Episcopal Academy Announces National Merit Finalists­

Nine students from Episcopal Academy have been named as National Merit Finalists.

NEWTOWN SQUARE– recently the following National Merit Finalists: Jill Barton (Malvern), Margaret Familetti (Narberth), Colleen Flynn (Rose Valley), Charles Kinzig (Newtown Square), Samuel Lawlor (St. Davids), Brendan McManus (Newtown Square), Colleen McNally (Newtown Square), (Merion), and Faith Stewart (Malvern).

These students have advanced to finalist standing due to their academic performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements, announced the school.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)–a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.5 million entrants each year–and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements.

All winners of Merit Scholarship awards are chosen from the finalist group, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments–without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference.
