Episcopal Academy Lights Up The Season

The school held its second annual tree lighting celebration on Dec. 2.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Hundreds of students, faculty and family members gathered at 's campus green Friday night to ring in the Christmas season with the school's second annual tree lighting ceremony.

The event, organized by the Episcopal Academy Parents Association, was ushered in by a three-mile Jingle Bell Run for faculty and students, some of whom ran in costume, and at least one—cross country coach Tim Gavin—who ran barefoot. Friends and family mingled while enjoying holiday cookies and cocoa, leading up to the grand event of the evening: the tree lighting, followed by carols led by Episcopal Academy students.

"It's a simple event, but it's fun," said Parents Association president Karen Nakahara.
