Prior to the program, at 7:45 PM the Society will have a brief general meeting for the public. Come early to stay informed about what's new with historic sites in our township and how you can become part of our upcoming Newtown Square Day, June 4th.

In June of 1832, a group of 57 Irish immigrants arrived in Philadelphia. Phillip Duffy brought them to Chester County as laborers for the construction of Pennsylvania's railroad. Within six weeks, all died and were buried in a ditch outside of Malvern. The Duffy's Cut Project is the ongoing investigation of their lives and their tragic end. It all starts with a Ghost Story that leads to a 179 year old Murder Mystery with exciting developments along the way. Dr. William Watson, with a dedicated team of volunteers and researchers, many from Immaculata University, painstakingly excavated the site and you will be sitting on the edge of your seat by the time you hear about the recent developments in this case of mass murder on the Main Line.
