Former EA Head Football Coach To Be Inducted In PA Sports Hall of Fame

Bill Gallagher, the former Episcopal Academy head football coach, will be inducted into the City All-Star Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The recently announced the Churchmen's former head football coach, Bill Gallagher, has been announced as an inductee in the City All-Star Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Gallagher resigned as head coach from Episcopal Academy in November 2010 after six years at the Inter-Ac prep school. Former assistant coach Todd Fairlie was hired as Gallagher's replacement.

Gallagher has coached more than 35 football seasons, and more than 25 years with the Philadelphia Little Quakers, a youth all-star team.

The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame was chartered in 1962. It is the only community based Hall of Fame in the Country and its present 29 chartered chapters serve more than 300 communities throughout the state of Pennsylvania, according to The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

In addition, according to the PA Sports Hall of Fame, each year the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame inducts area greats of yesteryear and endeavors to include athletes, administrators, coaches, and those involved in sports medicine and the sports media.
