Letters Replaced at Marple Newtown High School

The high school sign is now spelled correctly.

The letters across the Marple Newtown High School main entrance have been replaced after they were vandalized and stolen earlier this year.

The letters, M, N and C were stolen from atop the main high school entrance on Aug. 24, according to Newtown Township Police.

New letters were ordered and installed with an expected total cost of $1,800, district Director of Operations Michael Dumin said in September.

The individual, black letters, with backlighting, sit across the overhang at the main entrance on 120 Media Line Road and were newly installed during the $59 million construction project.

The district is still offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft.
