Loomis Crafts 'Caring Quilts' For Make-A-Wish

Loomis Elementary School presented their annual donations of the school-made quilts to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

BROOMALL–Loomis Elementary School recently participated in "The Caring Quilts” project, which marks the school's 16th year of their community service project.

The project begins each year when each classroom is given materials to design a 16-square quilt. Parent volunteers, coordinated by Mari Jo Gannon, worked with the children, and classroom teachers chose a theme for the class to decorate the quilt squares. Every child in the class participated in the process to make their masterpiece, and the quilts were then sewn together by volunteer Beth Morgan.

Loomis recently gathered for an assembly and the quilts were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The organization gives "wishes" to children who are ill and in need of some tender loving care.
