Two MNHS National Merit Finalists Recognized

Madeline Baxter and Greg Stulpin were recognized as National Merit Finalists at a recent school board meeting.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Two students from Marple Newtown High School were recognized for the academic achievements at a school board meeting on Feb. 28. 

Madeline Baxter and Greg Stulpin are two . Both Baxter and Stulpin have advanced to finalist standing due to their academic performance on the PSAT/NMSQT and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements.

Baxter, who was , qualified for District Singles Competition in girls tennis this past season. Stulpin is a student council representative to the school board.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)–a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.5 million entrants each year.
