Marple Newtown ROARs

In collaboration with the 's athletics department and the school's Renaissance Program, students at Marple Newtown were recognized for their achievements at a recently held ROAR (Recognizing Our Academic Responsibility) Award luncheon.

According to the school, ROAR is part of the "Raising the Bar" program which is the mission statement for the athletic department.  Student athletes are encouraged to raise the bar in terms of their academics and character.

In the fall, the overall grade point average for the fall season winners were the girls tennis team with a grade point average of 93 percent. The 300 plus fall student athletes had an overall grade point average of 88 percent for the fall season. 

The overall grade point average winners for the winter season were the girls indoor track team with a grade point average of 92 percent.  The 200 plus winter student athletes had an overall grade point average of 89 percent  for the winter season.
