Marple Newtown's Cimirrow Moat Named 2011 Millard Robinson Recipient

Marple Newtown football's star senior tailback was recognized as this year's Millard Robinson award winner at the annual All-Delco awards ceremony on Nov. 28.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Marple Newtown High School's senior tailback Cimirrow Moat was recently recognized at the annual All-Delco banquet on Monday night as 2011's Millard Robinson award recipient, according to MarpleNewtownFootball.com.

The award was presented by the Delaware County Coaches Association. The award is named after Coach Millard "Robbie" Robinson is given to a student athlete who best exemplifies his career and life.

"This award will be presented for outstanding value and contribution to his team and the great game of football. The recipient shall demonstrate by his behavior and performance during practice and on game day . . . Inspiration . . . Perseverance . . . Dedication . . . Cooperation . . . Fair Play and Sportsmanship. He may not have set any records or be the biggest and/or fastest but what he has given to and shared with his fellow players on the athletic field has made them richer for the experience and a better team."


and quickly made his name known to his opponents. Moat had already made his career-best and opened the season by rushing 256 yards in a , establishing a new school single-game rushing record for yards in a game.

In a surprising earlier in the season, Moat helped the Tigers win 24-7 over the defending champions. In addition, with the aid of Moat's relentless rushing on the field, the Tigers were able to host their third-ever PIAA playoff in the school's history.

According to MarpleNewtownFootball.com, Moat had rushed for over 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging 7.8 yards per rush this season.
