Marple Newtown's Moat is 2011 Mini Max Award Recipient

Cimirrow Moat, of Marple Newtown's football team, is a recipient of the 2011 Mini Maxwell Award.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–'s star senior running back, , was recently named as this year's Mini Maxwell Award recipient.

According to MarpleNewtownFootball.com, Moat is one of the 60 players selected this season from school districts in the eastern half of Pennsylvania to receive a Mini Maxwell Award from the Maxwell Football Club.

Moat, who started off the 2011 season with 16 rushes, 256 yards and three touchdowns in the , didn't let up the entire season.

The Mini Maxwell Award is given to high school football players, who were nominated by their coaches throughout the 2011 season. The players were evaluated based on a criteria that includes: academics, football performance and community service, according to MarpleNewtownFootball.com.

Each year the Maxwell Football Club presents the Mini Maxwell Award for high school players. This award is presented in honor of Robert W. (Tiny) Maxwell, a legendary college player, official and sports columnist.

This year, the Mini Max Award recipients will be honored at an awards dinner on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at the Drexelbrook Catering Ballroom in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. 

The Maxwell Football Club will select one player from the group of Mini Max winners as the winner of the Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year. The Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year will also be announced at Jan. 19th's awards dinner.

The awards dinner is open to the public and tickets are available on the Club's website, www.maxwellfootballclub.org.
