Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: "I thought that I could make a difference and help the school, and I wanted to be a part of something," said Chrissy about why she decided to apply to be co-president of student council. "I felt like I really knew the people and help figure out how we could make a difference. I wanted to give back to the school for what they did for me."

As co-president this year, Chrissy hopes to speahead an eighth-grade field trip to the Walk for Life event in Washington D.C. In addition, Chrissy said she's looking forward to simply graduating with her class "as a family" and to "have a good school year."

Other things on her radar this year: participating in another year of Reading Olympics, which she has been taking part of since the fifth grade "because it pushes me to read more," said Chrissy.

Chrissy has also participated in the school's cross country team and this year will mark her ninth year with the team. Though bittersweet about graduating and marking her final year with the team, she hopes to simply enjoy her time with the year and to "just have fun."

The second oldest of seven children in her family, Chrissy has naturally grown to take on a leadership role with her younger siblings by helping out her parents since she was young. And, in turn, the experience has already started to carve out a possible future career for her.

"I'm the second oldest so I'm used to babysitting and I babysit my neighbors as well," shared Chrissy. "It may be hard for some other people to have so many chilren but I enjoy it and it's never boring here. Someday I would want to be a nurse for newborns and work in the nursery."

As she concentrates on applying for scholarships for high school next year, in which she has her signts on Cardinal O'Hara in Springfield or Archbishop Carroll in Radnor, Chrissy will miss the school and people that have become her second family.

"I'll probably miss the people here," said Chrissy, reflecting on her time at St. Pius X. "We really have great teachers and a lot of great students and friends that I'll miss a lot, and the activities after school."
