Paxon Hollow Celebrates Foreign Language Week

BROOMALL–Each day during foreign language week at Paxon Hollow was highlighted with several fun cultural events.

Each morning during the announcements portion of the day, a "mystery" teacher greeted the students in a foreign language while only a flag of the country was shown on the TV screen.

During all lunches, students had an opportunity to place their guesses in a box as to who the teacher was and what language he/she was speaking. A winner was selected daily from the correct responses, and called down to receive a treat during the afternoon announcements.

In addition each day at lunch, food from different countries was featured and music from that country was played. On Thursday morning, language students wearing the colors of their countries' respective flags were called down to the gymnasium to create a human replica of the various flags for a photograph coordinated by Lara Munch and Ann Sieger, language teachers.

Classroom doors were decorated throughout the building by the French, German, and Spanish students reflecting different countries.
