Photos: MNHS Annual Jazz Band Dinner

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Jazz Band, under the direction of Band Director Michael Massimo, wowed fans at their annual Evening of Jazz Italian Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 4. Attendees were treated to a delicious Italian dinner prepared by the Marple Newtown Band Parents Association and served by MNHS band members.  

The 2011-12 MNHS Jazz Band members are:

• Trumpets–Matt Agatone, Adam Helker and Sydney Williams
• Trombones–Eben Arnold and Natalie Hurd
• French Horns–Kelly Berger and Brittany Saunders
• Saxophones–John Bernstein, Miles Flett, Paul Jang, Nate Pentz and Mike Talento
• Flute–Nicole Ozdowski
• Piano–David Levengood
• Bass Guitar–Tom Lombard
• Drums–Jake Rosenberg

The Jazz Band has been performing at various competitions. They earned ratings of Excellent at Archbishop Ryan High School (Nicole Ozdowski received a soloist award), Outstanding at Upper Moreland High School, Superior at Cheltenham High School, and Outstanding at Springfield High School also earning Best Saxes and Mike Talento earned Best Soloist. The Jazz Band competed on Friday at the Bensalem High School competition and compete in the championships at Souderton High School on April 14.
