$1,800 to Replace High School Sign Letters

A $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft is still being offered.

Letters to replace the vandalized Marple Newtown High School main entrance sign have been ordered.

The total cost to the district, including installation, is $1,800, according to the district's Director of Operations Michael Dumin.

The letters, M, N and C were stolen from atop the main high school entrance on Aug. 24, according to Newtown Township Police.

The letters are currently being manufactured, Dumin said, which could take about four weeks and will then be installed.

The individual, black letters, with backlighting, sit across the overhang at the main entrance on 120 Media Line Road and were newly installed during the $59 million construction project.

The district is still offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft.
