Russell Elementary Librarian Receives Samsung Grant
Peg Makela, a Russell Elementary School librarian, was one of the recipients of a Samsung 2011 grant.
BROOMALL–Peg Makela, 's librarian was one of 50 educators in the nation to receive a brand new SAMCAM 860 Digital Presenter from the 2011 Samsung Grant Competition.
Makela wrote a 300-word essay discussing the merits of how technology in the classroom will better prepare Russelll's students and, in turn, earned a valuable new learning tool for the school.
"For some time it has been a dream of mine to have a document camera in the library to use daily with my library classes. Because of this personal dream, I just sat down and my essay flowed right from my heart and mind. I am indeed so honored to have won and so grateful to the Samsung Corporation for their incredibly generous grant gift," said Makela.
