Stanley Piecara To Act as MNHS' Interim Principal

Marple Newtown School Board members approved the appointment of Stanley Piecara as the acting interim Marple Newtown High School Principal.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–A former Marple Newtown High School Principal will be back at his old stomping grounds starting Feb. 11. 

Stanley Piecara, who was principal for many years at the high school starting in 1995, will the interim Marple Newtown High School principal. Piecara will provide supervisory and operational servie at the high school and the services will be provided on an interim basis at a rate of $500 per day, according to the agreement.

Marple Newtown School Board members unanimously approved the appointment of Piecara at a school board meeting on Tuesday night.

Marple Newtown School Board Vice President Nancy Galbraith was more than pleased with the appointment, who had previously worked with Piecara while serving on the Curriculum, Information and Technology Committee.

"I just wanted to say how nice it is for me to have Stan [Piecara] back just for a little while," said Galbraith.

Piecara's appointment comes after the resignation of Marple Newtown High School Principal Ray McFall, who will resign effectively on Feb. 1. McFall took a position as the assistant executive director of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU).

Between Feb. 1 and Feb. 11, Assistant Superintendent Constance Bompadre will be at the high school during that time as the acting interim principal.

And for the record Chip Mackrides seems to be the uncle of the human crime spree, not the father.
